The Expendables: Great but Shallow

My better half won a free premiere tickets to "The Expendables" at Shangrila Plaza Cinema 2. The showing was a bit late around 9pm and coming from Baliwag, Bulacan is not easy. Lucky for us because we also have to get the free RedFox remote controller and my ASUS Starcraft II Guest Pass so we decided to go to the premiere.

We stop by at Starbucks to past the time and used the Gift Certificates given by ASUS. Starbucks coffee are really tasty and well deserve their price. However, I find one of the coffee too sweet



At around 7pm we went to Shangrila Plaza and wait for the time we will get the tickets. Passing time is not easy because there was no free WiFi there. I hope that Shang provide free wifi like other major malls in Metro Manila.

Then came the time! We got our free tickets and food stub which includes a hotdog, popcorn and Sprite Cola drink. Lyn Usero and his husband was also there and we watch together. The premiere screening started with a raffle and well... I won! I won a gift pack from Red Bull which includes 1 cap, a shirt and 10 bottles of Red Bull (Wow! ).

The Expendables screening started at around 10pm and well it was one great movie. The action was full force and you can see bodies shuttering, blood all over the place, great explosions and action after action after action.

The dialog was also hilarious. The cast acts very natural. I like the way Jet Li, Stallone and even Statham delivered their dialog. If there is one thing that people might not like is the fact that, The Expendables has a very shallow plot and storyline. It is not a movie that involves a lot of your thinking abilities but it involves your eyes and emotion for action.

The Expendables is worth watching if you want to see a rare occasion or probably the only occasion where great action stars from across generations work together for a great film. So there you go... The Expendables!
