Ram Revilla's sister Gail denies involvement in brother's killing

Gail Bautista, sister of slain actor Ramgen "Ram" Revilla, has broken her silence on her brother's killing and denied having anything to do with it.

In an exclusive interview aired on GMA News' "24 Oras" on Tuesday, Bautista, however, admitted that Ryan Montinola Pastera, a suspect in the killing, was the best man during her wedding.

Pastera and Bautista were tagged by another suspect, Glaiza Visda, who surrendered last week, as among the masterminds behind Ram's killing last month.

According to Bautista, Pastera could not have done the crime as he was a good person and came from a decent family. She, however, said she does not know Visda personally.

"Si Ryan, yes, kilala namin siya, pero not the girl. He's the best man sa kasal namin," Bautista told GMA reporter Ian Cruz.

On Visda, Bautista said: "Never ko siya nakita sa buong buhay ko, never ko din siyang nakausap. I don't know what she's talking about."

She also denied knowing anybody working as a hired killer and said somebody is just trying to destroy their family.

Also named suspects in the case were Ram's two other siblings — Ramona Bautista, who has fled the country days after the crime, and RJ, currently in police custody.

The four are half-siblings of Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. Their father, Ramon Revilla Sr., is a former senator.

Their mother, Genelyn Magsaysay, denied that her children would resort to killing each other to settle their differences. In the same interview by Ian Cruz, she insisted that it was Ram's stay-in personal assistant Ronaldo Ancajas who should be considered as supect in the case.

"Nagtataka po ako sa kanya kasi siya 'yung nandun sa bahay, siya po dapat nakaalam ng mga pangyayari, pero nagtataka po ako [kasi] ngayon po siya ang nagsasalita na kami pa ho ang mastermind," Magsaysay said.

She added that investigators should have subjected Ancajas to a paraffin test.

Ancajas, considered by the police as a witness in the case, had earlier said that Ram was not on speaking terms with his siblings due to financial issues.

Ram was stabbed and shot inside his Parañaque City home last Oct. 28. His girlfriend, Janelle Manahan, was also attacked but survived.

Aside from RJ, two more suspects — Michael Jay Nartea and Roy Francis Tolisora — have been arrested. During the preliminary investigation earlier this month, the two submitted their separate affidavits to the Parañaque City Prosecutor’s Office where they pinned RJ and Ramona to the crime. - KBK, GMA News
