When it comes to Christmas, I think Filipino's have the tendency to go overboard.
We Pinoy's are known for our super long Christmas celebrations, normally setting up Christmas decorations as early as the -Ber months strikes. But what makes our Christmas more special and unique is our Pinoy Food Recipes that You can only savor in the Christmas season in the Philippines. Filipinos really loves to eat specially on the holidays, thats why everyone can't wait to taste the hot and yummy rice delicacies being sold in the holidays. When we think of Christmas, it is paralleled to good food, and when we think of good food during Christmas, first two foods that comes to mine is puto-bungbong and bibingka. ![]() Puto-Bungbong ![]() Bibingka Made from glutenous rice mixed with other special ingredients and cooked old fashioned way, these two tasty treats makes everyone wake up in wee hours of the morning to attend the Simbang Gabi and savor this delectable warm treats after the mass. Definitely a treat You shouldn't miss during Simbang Gabi. Normally, in other countries during Christmas, people will all gather around the table and enjoy yummy foods that really symbolize Christmas. Well, in the Philippines, its a different story. In the Philippines, people usually celebrate Christmas by attending a midnight mass on Christmas Eve before heading back home, then they enjoy mouthwatering Pinoy food Recipes with the family. Looks like a typical Christmas feast huh? Well, that doesn't end there. Families usually bring foods they cooked outside and share it with their neighbors so that their neighbors could taste their delicious foods, the neighbors who received these foods usually returns the plates back to the giver with foods from their own Christmas feast. This is Uniquely PINOY and can only be seen in the Philippines. The true spirit of giving is shown by every Filipino's all around the country during this wonderful time of the Year. I really hope everyone could share their Love to everyone all throughout the Year.
