Noynoy: Our Vision to Nationwide Realistic Dreams

06.10.2010, 23:19

What usually comes out in your mind upon hearing the word ‘Philippines’? Often people address this one to the situations happening in the country itself. But to you, what is it? When I get to think of it, I think about street children and beggars everywhere, nasty trashes thrown by undisciplined people, and a land doomed to its suffocating pollution. That’s an awful phantom, you say? But I think it concises somewhat the truth, doesn’t it? However, these can all go change ways when people can go deliberate of about.

Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Cojuangco Aquino III is a third-generation politician with his grandfather, Benigno Aquino Sr. who held several legislative positions from 1919-1944 and his parents were late former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino and former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr. He was born February 8, 1960 in Manila, Philippines as third of the five children in the Aquino household. The remaining four of his siblings were all his sisters namely Maria Elene (Ballsy) Aquino Cruz, Aurora Corazon (Pinky) Aquino Abellada, Victoria Eliza (Viel) Aquino Dee, and Kristina Bernadette (Kris) Aquino Yap.

Noynoy Aquino featured in TIME Magazine.

Winning for the first automated election as chosen president wasn’t easy for him, though. People can tend to expect him to be like his legendary parents. I’ve heard several people’s opinions about Noynoy topping the race because of his parents’ influence on people. This is a fact stated actually because during that time of Marcos leading the nation, both Cory and Ninoy Aquino shaped parts of the rest of the history and eventually earned the people’s loyalty.

Noynoy Aquino and Jojo Binay Proclamation last June 9, 2010.

I’m pretty sure you’re familiar to Noynoy’s late parents -- Maria Corazón "Cory" Sumulong Cojuangco Aquino and Benigno Servillano "Ninoy" Aquino, Jr. They were those people who gave and stored back democracy to our disastrous nation. After Ninoy got assassinated, people nationwide were filled with sympathy and rage alongside Cory Aquino. These times were one of those that made a start of political history among the Aquino household.

As I believe, the president’s principle role in a country is to support the assessment and development of his own ruling territories, and now to manually do people’s jobs! People were always complaining of why the government officials hadn’t done anything on the location they’re settling in. But to think of it, they did. Maybe people just don’t take notice. When running a developing country, the national leader Noynoy Aquino doesn’t need to really visit a place and personally see him work. He’ll get old easily with that. :)) Instead, he’ll send out instruments (e.g. basurero, janitors) to get the work done and proceed to another. The question is, regardless how many special instruments he’s reaching out, why got no improvements? The people holds the answer from here. When a person continues the habit of littering everywhere, they’ll have the work back to where they started. So why put the blame on the president when you’re the one not working out? People must at least ponder it in mind.

Everything takes its downfall when somebody is not being cooperative with the government, which leads to tremendous failures. Therefore it is not only the president’s fault when the nation’s downfall surfaces, but also its people. It is when I pity my fellow countrymen who took a step on and helped in the nation’s development but were abused and put into starvation. I pity all courageous OFWs who sailed into another sea and sacrificed their time which is supposed to be spent in bonding with their family but rather they’d be with others to earn their own living but were discriminated and locked up like a prison. I pity those good and honest workers that deserve recognition but were misunderstood and were sentenced to be in jail for eternity, or worse, death. And most of all, I pity those kids like me who are supposedly enjoying the wonders and excursions of life but rather multiplies their job with simultaneous studying just to support the family but were lacking of encouragement and were most labeled as a burden by its own family. These factors arose my patriotism to my beloved country. And I believe that Noynoy could use his given chance to prove that he can show a little difference amongst the other fourteen past presidents.

This June 30, 2010, Noynoy will be crowned to his new position as the 15th President of the Philippines. Let us all shed supports and words of encouragement to staple his mind in bright ways and secure determination. Often people just need love, support and words of encouragement to find success. Let’s do it likewise to him.

Noynoy’s end message at his speech at the Peace and Security Forum, “We must revive the peace process on the basis of a comprehensive understanding of the root causes of the conflict, under clear policies that pave the way ahead, and driven by a genuine desire to attain a just and lasting peace.
“We shall endeavor to restore confidence in the peace process that is transparent and participative, and renew our faith in our shared vision of a peaceful, secure and prosperous future under one sovereign flag.” My cue to this? May he keep his words for we people constantly cling to these words asserted. The battle his parents fought back then wasn’t easy, so he’ll have to struggle and keep the lines straight yet. I say it was better he was ignorant in terms of politics than those utopian and same old people find holes to corruption. Out of all the running presidential candidates, Noynoy was the least dirty.

Philippines made a history of its glorious past that I am proud of until this day. The sun shone along our paths led us to a prosperous developing nation for the future ahead. Citizens of all ages received warmth in their hearts in welcoming a brighter vision of a country who’s done quite an epic history worth reminiscing on repeat. This period of time again, another lengthy span of six years, together with our newly-elected president Noynoy, let’s try to create something only us Filipinos can be in capable in doing of. Let our mind venture off individually into different horizons. Make the whole Filipino population proud of what they really are – our unique culture worthy of praise, our civilized people worthy of world recognition, and our eminence government worthy of keep.
