Being a good and true person doesn’t always mean you will have a perfect relationship with people around you – especially those ones who are close to you. Whether it’s by intentional or unintentional, you will sometime in your life offend someone dear to you. And the only way to resolve and retain the relationship you have for them is by “simply” saying sorry. It may sound so easy but most of us often find it hard to do. Most especially if you are covered with this strong wall of PRIDE.Mean what you say. Words are meaningless if they’re not accompanied with sincerity. Don’t say sorry if you feel like you’re just obliged to do so. Admit your mistakes. You won’t feel sorry if you haven’t done anything wrong. So it’s best to accept your faults. And show him/her, that you won’t do it same mistake again. Offer reconciliation. Find ways to reconcile. A peace-offering action such as gift giving, treating him/her out for a special date or sending him/her flowers can be an effective way of showing that you really are sorry. Forgive yourself. Accepting forgiveness won’t be completed if you don’t forgive yourself. Vow to yourself that you won’t repeat same mistake again. It won’t only help you retain broken relationship but also develop your own personality as a whole. Although not all apologies are accepted, make sure not to harbor bad feelings against the people you offended. As much as possible, make the best that you can do. Not all people are born to have a soft heart that easily forgives. So be patient and be open to whatever possibilities you may encounter after you’ve done your part. Saying sorry doesn’t only signify CHARACTER but also proves that you’re a HUMAN. Source: Saying Sorry
